Magpul FMG9 – Folding Machine Gun
In 2008, Magpul Industries declared they were dealing with a folding sub machine gun. Reconsidering the old M-21, they discarded the past firearms’ 1980s versatile blast box camouflage and redesigned the look to that of a portable laptop battery. Named the FMG-9, the model weighed a little more than a pound emptied and was 10-inches collapsed, 20-inches expanded (we’ve seen that length spec some place some time recently). Utilizing a Glock 17 action, it could suit the standard 17 or 33 cycle 9mm luger mags that weapon was intended for. However the gun didn’t really live up to it’s hype mainly because there are so many other small machine guns available.
